Italian born menswear designer Matteo Bigliardi lives and works in Brighton, UK.
He launched his fashion label at London Fashion Week Men’s in June 2018. Growing up as an outsider in a countryside town in the North of Italy, Matteo’s style has been shaped by his unorthodox life experiences in the UK and his Italian heritage.
His is a luxury brand for the romantics, gentle and vulnerable men, mixing elegant tailoring, exquisite fabrics and impeccable details. Influenced by his interest in subcultures, underground movements and techno, the collections, entirely made in Italy, are an expression of flair and individual style without being loud. Taking inspiration from 2 famous quote, the classics are reinterpreted to bend the rules of conservative menswear, challenging masculinities by infusing sensitivity, sensuality and vulnerability. Signature pieces are the outerwear and tailoring.
Matteo graduated from the BA and MA in menswear at Central Saint Martins under the legendary tutorship of the late Prof. Louise Wilson OBE. He presented a collection under his own name with Fashion East MAN at London Fashion Week in 2010. His experience varies from fashion, to cinema, to architecture. He curated an archive project for the late Zaha Hadid, assisted costume designer Arianne Phillips on the movie: “Kingsman: The Secret Service” and worked as a menswear designer at Gianfranco Ferré, Pringle of Scotland and Tom Ford.
Matteo will be presenting his second collection for AW19-20 at the 95thedition of Pitti Immagine Uomo in Florence from January 8th to 11th, 2019.
